Lion Eyes scarves are digitally printed on a beautiful silk cotton blend of 30% 12mm Silk and 70% Cotton. They are delicate and will fade with time, but with a little care they will age nicely and be great to wear for ages.
Remember to store your scarf flat and untied. Avoid any contact with bleach, harsh chemicals and heavy oils.
If you need to wash your scarf taking it to your favourite dry cleaner is recommended but you can also gently hand wash it in warm water. Air dry it flat and press using a cool/warm iron.
How to Iron on your Patch
Before you start, make sure the fabric of your base is a good match. Iron-on patches work best with materials like cotton and polyester but the heat and glue can really damage fabrics like nylon, rayon or anything plastic like a rain coat material.
1. Position the Patch
Choose the perfect place for your patch, because once it’s glued on it’s not going anywhere! Maybe use a measuring tape to check it’s in the right position and pin it in place to make sure it won’t move around.
2. Prep the Iron
Make sure your iron is turned up nice and hot, to the highest heat setting.
3. Use a Pressing Cloth
The cloth will help protect the surface of the base fabric and the patch from the hot iron. This can be a thin tea towel, a handkerchief or even a T-shirt.
Put the cloth on top of the patch and press the iron down over both of them. Hold it in place for 30 - 45 seconds, to heat the backing glue. Then slowly iron over the patch for about 1 minute.
Don’t move the iron around too much or it could move the patch out of position!
4. Flip it and Repeat it!
When you think the patch is firmly fixed in place turn the base over/ inside out and repeat the process on the other side. This will make sure the glue is really fixed on the fabric.
With the patch securely glued on, let it cool down completely before wearing it and enjoy!
